Even the ancient cultures recognized mudras as a form of healing. Its benefits have gradually been more recognized at fitness centers around the United States. The reason is mudras focuses on the nerves in a person’s hands, as each nerve correlates to an area on the body.
With a little time, you can learn how to do mudras. The nice thing is it can be done almost anywhere – the car, your desk, or your couch. When the nerve endings are stimulated, it will signal healing in the area that needs the most healing. It can also be used for health prevention.
The Gyaan Mudra will sharpen your memory and increase intellect. This will promote happiness. You start doing it by creating an “O” shape with the tip of the index finger and thumb. The Apaan Mudra joins the thumb tip to the middle fingers on the hand. When the tips are connected, it cleanses the body and relieves urination and constipation problems.
If you join the ring finger, the thumb, and the pinky, you are doing the Prana Mudra. This gives you energy and improves your vision. When you do the Makula Mudra, you will put the elbows to the ribs and make the forearms parallel. Raise the palms up with the finger joined and pointing upward. This creates overall healing on the body.
